St. Petka Sunday School – Bible Studies
St. Petka Church provides English-speaking Bible studies lessons for children aged 5 years and over.
Our aim is to provide education of the Orthodox faith to our children and preserve our beliefs and traditions for future generations.
The lessons are conducted every Sunday morning during school term dates. They are held in the Church multipurpose room, from 9am to approximately 10am.
At the beginning of each lesson, we sing “The Lords Prayer”. We then encourage the children to do their Cross and kiss the Icons, and be seated quietly waiting for the teacher to begin the lesson.
At the conclusion of the lesson, we walk all the children together into Church, where we sing the “The Lords Prayer” once again during Holy Liturgy. The children will then receive Holy Communion, and be required to return to their parent/guardian.
Each week we teach a different topic relating to the Orthodox Bible. We also incorporate a variety of activities and crafts, encourage teamwork, and most of all making learning fun!
The lessons are conducted by a group of Mum’s who attend Church on a regular basis. All teachers hold a “Working with Children’s” check.
No bookings or forms are necessary. This is free service, and we encourage you to bring your children/grandchildren, and experience what our program has to offer.
